The Great American Eclipse

Seana Collins and I decided to record a THA>HIJAC show on the Great American Eclipse of 2018; the total solar eclipse which will be visible in the USA on Monday 21st August. The path of totality travels from the West coast to the East coast with the point of greatest eclipse over Nashville.

The Eclipse is a New Moon (all Solar Eclipses are) as the Moon meets the Sun by conjunction and obscures it from the Earth’s view. The shadow cast by the moons obscuration of the Sun is an awesome spectacle and a hugely symbolic event which throughout history has been considered to be an omen or message from God foretelling times of hardship, illness and war (among other things). You can read my previous blog post about Eclipses and Lunar Gestation Cycles here.

The Eclipse Effect

This particular New Moon is at 28º Leo. This is a poignant degree for the USA as it aligns with the birth chart of the US President Donald Trump whose ascendant is 29º Leo with Mars rising. Trump has a Gemini Sun and Sagittarius Moon. Not only was he born on a Full Moon (think of that larger than life character), but Trump was born on a lunar eclipse! This makes him even more sensitive to the eclipse effect. Having this particular eclipse on his Ascendant, whilst it is visible to an enormous portion of North America is a very interesting phenomena.  Have a listen to our Great American Eclipse show! While you are there, check out some of our other shows that we have been making lately and let us know what you think in the comments!

Below is a video demonstrating the path of totality with a close up of the area covers by the greatest point of eclipse. Hello everyone. I’m sorry I am a bit late posting this, I had a few problems uploading my video to YouTube after I filmed it. Mildly annoying as I had hoped to make it a Valentines day Vlog, but instead we will have to skip that and just enjoy it for what it is.

Please excuse my silly intro this week – I felt like adding a bit of comedy (if you can call it that) to the video.

Topics covered during this week’s Vlog:

  • The return of Mercury to the degree in which he went retrograde in the first place which you can read about here.
  • Mercury and Venus’ ingress to Aquarius and the Sun’s ingress to Pisces – Happy Birthday Pisces!
  • Venus through each of the signs of the Zodiac.

Thanks for checking it out, I hope you all enjoy it. I always enjoy making the videos.

Hi everyone, Happy Full Moon in Leo!
Second time lucky – that ol’ trickster Mercury has had me well and truly running round in circles this week. My first Vlog went wrong and I’ve had a few issues uploading and posting my second attempt – but here it is, finally.
Enjoy! X

Venus Retrograde 2015

Venus Rx

Venus has reached a point in her cycle where she continues to move forward in her orbit around the Sun but approaches her closest orbital point to Earth.  This period is known as ‘retrograde’ and during this time, appears to move backwards in the sky.  During her cycle around the sun, Venus moves approximately one degree a day, with the retrograde period lasting about 6 weeks (no more than 43 days at a time).  Some years she doesn’t retrograde at all.  During retrograde, Venus’ presence is more pronounced in our daily lives. Particularly highlighted during this period are the things that we attract or consider to be of value to us, be it particular relationships (romantic and professional), moral standpoints, objects and possessions, our source of income and creative endeavors ranging from aesthetics and art to and children.

In 2015, Venus Stations on 25th July 10:29 GMT at 00°45’ Virgo and continues in retrograde motion through until the 05th September at 14°24’ where she Stations before commencing in direct motion from the 07th September.   With Saturn in Scorpio squaring Venus conjunct Jupiter, finances may be highlighted and depending on your luck a refund may be requested from, or credited to your account during this period (preferably the latter).

The phrase ‘It is a woman’s prerogative to change her mind’ epitomises Venus’ temperament in her backwards motion and inclusive of relationship commitments (both romantic and professional), issues of abode and a re-evaluation of what it is you feel is of Value to you. Venus retrograde is not to be feared as this period is always an excellent opportunity for self-observation and the potential to considered from a closer and more personal perspective.
