Ringed-planet Saturn is the second of two social planets in our solar system.

Transits from Stoic Saturn are a formidable prospect. And there’s a reason Saturn is so intimidating: He demands your respect and will only reciprocate when you have earned his. Saturn teaches us about limitation and ensures we are truly on our correct course in life.

But fear not – it’s not all bad when it comes to Saturn. He can provide clarity, structure, confidence and accountability. All you have to do is put in the time and effort and he’ll leave you with a very respectable badge of survival honour!

In this episode of The Stellium Astrology Podcast I talk about some of the key concepts of Astrological Saturn without being too strict, in the hope of crystallising your understanding of the Zodiac’s most rewarding teacher.

Emily has serious Saturn rising in critical Virgo, which is trine her Moon in Capricorn – the sign ruled by Saturn.

She’s a naturally hardworking person, and has stepped in to a role of responsibility in her family business, while raising a child. Saturn rising in her chart means she probably expects nothing but perfection from herself and is likely quite hard on herself.

Emily may have struggled during some periods of her life and may have felt as though she carried the weight of the world of her shoulders from time-to-time, but when she learns how to navigate the tough times, she can stand taller than ever. Because when you develop a mutual understanding with Saturn, he can be a great ally.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish has been having a pretty immense Saturn transit over her Sagittarius stellium and Aquarius stellium where she has her Moon, Uranus and Neptune placements.

You can read about how Saturn has impacted her in the article I wrote about her, below:

Margaret Thatcher

There’s no way I could talk about Saturn without mentioning “The Iron Lady” Maggie T! She is undeniably Saturnian and did not cower from confrontation.

Her challenging relationship with the Queen was definitely unique, with two women in power of the country, with very different ideas of how the country should be run.

It is rumoured that she would eat up to 9 eggs a day, I can’t even begin to fathom how constipated she must have been! But then, nothing sends a firmer message of “I’m in charge” to the bowels than someone who refuses to let the bodily functions do their thing as and when they please.

Queen Elizabeth II

Closely following ex-PM Maggie T, isQueen Elizabeth II who has Saturn overshadowing her whole natal chart, elevated on her Scorpio Midheaven (MC).

The Queen became the ruling Monarch of the United Kingdom after her father King George VI passed away from Lung Cancer. She was crowned at her Coronation when she was 26 on the slow creep of Saturn approaching her natal Saturn placement and Midheaven.

Elizabeth has always been educated and ‘groomed’ into her royal position from a young age and stepped into her role as Queen with apprehension and total responsibility.

She is the longest reigning Monarch in British History, and is also known to up her egg intake when going on Royal Visits in the hope she will need the toilet less frequently!
